Where is Your Focus?

Beyond Kung Fu
If I had $100 I would design and print off 1000 flyers to put in my local newspaper.
I would start with the
heading…
“Whatever your
focus…"
Look through this
paper. What do you see? Terrorism; the proliferation of aggressive, violent, and
anti-social behavior in our schools; more and more teenagers discovering their
efficacy at the end of a gun barrel; rampant drug and alcohol abuse … technology
advancing mainly for the purpose of developing evermore sophisticated weapons of
war; corruption in high levels of government and business… Phew! Such
negativity.
Of course there’s
sports and entertainment, which is definitely more positive. That does bring up
an interesting point, however.
Do you know how many
people watch the Super Bowl every year? Over 80 million! What about the academy
Awards? Nearly 45 million tuned in this year! Wow!
How do sports and
entertainment affect your life, not your emotions; actually affect your life?
Think about it for a moment.
Now, how many viewers
were there for the 2006 Nobel Prize Award Ceremony? I can tell you that it was
only a handful, comparatively. Did you even know that you could watch it? How
many categories of prizes are there? What are they?
If you don’t know the
answers to those questions you’re missing out on ideas, discoveries, inventions,

focus" –Roger Kornberg, 2006 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry.
Copy and pass this flyer around to family, friends, and colleagues;
drop them off a libraries and book stores; send an email to your contact list
and direct your focus away from violence, hatred, corruption and toward beauty,
peace, and love. The world awaits you.
